Isle of Skye Scotland
The Island of Skye is the biggest inner Hebridian Island off the West Coast of Scotland. Skye lies off the latitude 57 degrees north the same as Moscow but the gulf stream tempers the weather which can be changeable even within one day, but due to its location gives very long summer evenings and fantastic sunsets.

Sometimes referred to as the Misty Isle it is an area of natural beauty and wildlife. It may be possible to see Golden Eagles, Puffins, Seals, and even otters. Skye is famous worldwide for its climbing, attracting visitors to the Cuillin Mountains, Red hills and the Blaven, one of the most picturesque mountains on Skye. There are also rivers, magnificent waterfalls and sea-lochs to be seen. The amazing, intricate coastline boasts dramatic cliffs, black sandy and white coral beaches against the deep blue sky.
Skye has a turbulent past, castles of the clans can be found all over the area showing the great rivalry between them. The most famous clans being the Macleods and the Macdonalds. The seat of the Macleods is in the North West of Skye at Dunvegan, with the Macdonalds nearby at Waternish. Great battles and feuds of the clans have shaped the history of Skye. You can trace the footsteps of famous visitors such as Boswell, Johnson, Bonnie Prince Charlie and Flora Macdonald. Myth and Legend also has its place here with places called The Fairy Pools, Fairy Glen and The Fairy Bridge.
All in all The Isle of Skye has everything you could want in a holiday or short break, an area of outstanding beauty and culture.
